Frequently asked questions

Why do you not use hotels?

The answer because they are too small they do not justify the critical mass to reserve scarce resources in terms of equipment and people you cannot justify having 24 hour call nurses and doctors because you serve a 100 or 200 room hotel such a hotel only has had most 80 people that will need care and separately because the hotel is designed with a single hallway it becomes a cesspool of infection and put healthcare workers and volunteers at risk In an emergency such as this you have to design the place to keep the healthcare workers safe and healthy and you have to design it such that it spreads the resources and the most efficient way and this can only be done with critical mass.

Why do you not use a sports stadium or large convention center?

Because the last thing you want to do when you are sick and fighting for your life is be in the same room as other sick people again the environment is a cesspool of infection.

How can I help?

Spread the word about this facility and get government or NGO organizations made aware of what we are doing the best way to do this is to scale it to become a joint effort. The things you can do is raise money or "donate in kind" ideally with an RV or things we might need.
Lastly if you want to volunteer we have a lot of work to do to clean up the site etc. The site is wide open very spread out it is a safe working environment at this time.

My area in the outbreak – where do we stand?

To judge and measure your area I suggest you get the most local data you
can find: Actual numbers should be measured in cases per million.

Examples:
New York area has 20 million people and 30000 cases =
1500 per million
Italian north is a region of about 10 million people with near 50000 cases =
5000 per million
Virginia is at 360 in 8 million =
45 per million.
Martha Jefferson Health district 15 cases in a 250 k people area =
60 per million
When you reach 600 per million your healthcare system is in trouble…
You may reach this point and the actual healthcare stress may be delayed
by a week or two….

Progression of the disease explained:

Per the experiment in the city Vo in Italy where all 3000 inhabitants were
tested 6% of the population get the disease and never have any symptoms
but can spread the disease.

1; The typical incubation period is between 5 and 6 days longer than the 2
days typical for the flu. There are outlier cases documented all the way to
27 days.
2; 1-2 weeks usually mild at first either peaking and toning down (80%) or
progressing to a more serious condition (20%).
3; Becoming serious with ICU support
4; Respiratory failure more than (½)
5; Ventilator and Coma
6; Death
People often stay in a hospital bed and use a ventilator for many weeks –
thus this is a very material consuming disease. Of the data we now have - as hospital capacity is overwhelmed the number of deaths is increasing - at the latest information from world o meter below we see 15% death and 85% recovered as the outcome. See link below: www.worldometers.info/coronavirus
